Bradley and Jeff

Larger prints can take quite a while to complete, and it can be very frustrating to hammer away at something for an extended period of time and not really have anything to show for it. To offset that frustration, every month or two I like to do a really small print, something that I can finish in one afternoon. Here are a couple such prints from late last year:

Bradley

Jeff

The first is called "Bradley," and is 2" x 3".  The second is called "Jeff," and has a 2" diameter.  Both are line etchings with soft ground, and I managed to complete each one in an afternoon.  I'm not really bragging about that, but I say that to show that printmaking doesn't always have to be a laborious, never-ending struggle between man and copper.  Sometimes, just having a small scrap of copper, a goofy doodle from your sketchbook, and a couple of free hours is enough to produce a finished piece.
