One Down, Two To Go

Friday was the inaugural "Craft in the Village," in downtown Vancouver, WA.  I set up at it, and here's a couple of pics from my vantagepoint...

Just as a reminder, it's the first Friday of every month all summer long, and you can find out more at the event's MySpace page,  It didn't go particularly well for me, but it was a fun event, and definitely good for downtown Vancouver!

Unfortunately, as the day went along, it became apparent that my knee was no longer going to cooperate with me.  It hurt like nobody's business, swelled up like a balloon, and made it impossible to even sleep.  It's a couple of days later now, and at least the searing pain is gone, but it's still tender and very swollen.  The most strenuous activity I've managed all weekend is checking out the new Wolverine movie (verdict: decent), but I couldn't even manage to hit up Free Comic Book Day!  I'm going to have to go to a doctor tomorrow and figure out what's going on there, or start investigating a disabled parking pass!

In the midst of my uncomfortable squirming yesterday, I did get a bit of good news.  I got accepted to the Silverton Fine Arts Festival this summer, so I managed to get into 2 fine art fairs this year (West Linn being the other).  While creating art isn't entirely about external validation, it does get difficult to press on sometimes without little nuggets of encouragement.  So, it was really nice to get that news in the midst of a trying weekend.
