Easter Island Deck
A few years ago (I can't remember if I did this one in 2004 or 2005), I got the bright idea to paint skateboard decks. I ordered one off of eBay, thought some more, and ordered another 10 blank decks. I'm not much of a painter, but I did get one done, and this is it. And now I've still got 10 decks laying around my garage. I may putter around with one in the next week or so while I'm on printmaking hiatus.

Funny story, I took this deck with me to one year's Emerald City Comic Con, betting that no one else would have any painted decks there. I was right about that, and it did stop a few people who wanted to check it out, but one guy took a look at it, and then told me, "That's pretty cool, but I could do something even sicker." Paraphrasing, of course. It's been a few years, so I don't remember the exact wording. It's entirely possible that he can and later did. But I got my stuff done and had a table at the show while he was wandering around, running his mouth about what he could do. And I've been there every year, and I don't recall seeing him with a table and finished work. Good luck with that, dude...
