This one was a really tough one to get a decent picture of - the pearlescent acrylics I used to color the bulk of this piece catch light in wildly different ways depending on what angle you're viewing it from.  Plus, I didn't have my usual light set-up (it's been raining off and on like a mofo all day, and I didn't want to chance taking the piece out to the garage and have it get rained on).  But enough excuses.  The black and white version isn't quite complete, but this piece was drawn with color in mind.  I saw a book of blacklight posters blacklight posters in a bookstore a few weeks ago, and the color schemes seared their way into my head, and would get loose until I tried to do something with it.  So that's what this piece is all about.  The black and white edition version will be titled simply "Apeman," after the Kinks' song.

Another quarter is wrapping up in short order.  It hasn't been a particularly great year - I've had a lot of what would have otherwise been productive time knocked out by illness this year, and I really wish I could get that time back.  But since I can't, I've got another week and a half to work overtime and try to finish some things before taking a much-needed break.  I can almost make out the buffalo wings in the distance...
