Warrington Colescott on printmaking technique

A quote from Warrington Colescott, from Fritz Eichenberg's "The Art of Print":

"The mind behind the print is for me the motivating force, the logic that can carry its vigor into the technical handling.  When the quality of the idea stimulates the ingenuity of the technique, the printmaker is no longer the pawn of his machinery but is using his shopful of tools and heaters and presses and rollers as if it were one small, cohesive drawing instrument to give tangible form to the image in his mind."
